Anglophone Program
Students applying to this program must be 19 years of age or older
(some exceptions may apply).
Literacy training is available at LBS Levels 3 to 5.
Upon completion of this program most students move on to further training,
often within our Georgian Campus or on to employment.
Group instruction. Computer-based and independent learning also available
Classes offered Monday to Thursday, 5 hours per day, 38 weeks per year.Closed
for the summer.

and transportation provided for those who qualify.

Anglophone Program
Students must be out of school to be eligible for this program.
This program offers literacy training at LBS Levels 1 and 2 with some
Level 3 and 4 instruction.
Employability and/or further training is seen as a first step towards
learning and most students continue on. Some students go on to participate
in workfare and seek full time employment.
One-to-one, volunteer tutor/learner matches
There are also small groups (2-6) and larger groups (7-10) available
One-to-one volunteer tutor/learner - meet at various locations and
times throughout the week
Small classes are offered Tuesday through Friday, 9:00am to noon and
1:00pm to 3:00pm, 50 weeks/year.
All services are offered by the Sound Learning Centre staff.
Students have individual programs based on needs
Computer
based learning, the Plato program, Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor, Internet,
Windows and WordPerfect programs available.

Native Program
This program is designed for First Nations adults throughout the Parry
Sound area,
19 years of age or older. Training is available in communications, numeracy,
and basic computer skills. Training Plan Development and Learner Assessments
progress students through LBS Levels 1 to 5, in a culturally sensitive
environment.
Upon completion of the program students may continue learning at the
post-secondary level or enter/re-enter the workforce
One-to-one and small group instruction.
Culturally-relevant topics and methods appropriate for Native learners
Training program available Monday to Friday, 44 weeks/year
