Anglophone Program


To be eligible for this program students must be adults 19 years of age or older.
This program is designed for underemployed or unemployed adults who require an intermediate level of literacy training in order to gain admission to a post-secondary program or to secure a higher skill level of employment. The program offers academic upgrading/college preparation in English, math and science at LBS Levels 4 and 5. Academic upgrading through the LBS program prepares the student to attend a post-secondary institution, study at a distance (e.g. Contact North) or enter/re-enter the workforce.

Francophone Program

This program is designed for Francophone adults who are 19 years of age or older (some exceptions may apply), or people who require French-language upgrading.
The program offers comprehensive upgrading in French ( LBS Levels 1 to 5- reading, writing, and mathematics), and an introduction to computers.
The starting level is based upon assessment. Upon completion of the program, students will have the prerequisites for admission into an adult training program or they may enter/re-enter the workforce
One to one tutoring - small group learning

Native Program


To be eligible for this program you must be an adult 19 years of age or older.
The program offers reading, writing and math up to LBS Level 5, with emphasis on culturally-relevant materials and methods appropriate to Native Learners.
Upon completion of the program adults are eligible for secondary school study, including adult education or independent study courses.
Learning Environment- One to one or small group instruction. Computers are available.

Simply drop in or call the Program Instructor, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday 9:00am to 4:00pm.

This program is designed to focus on the developmentally challenged adult who participates in the Espanola and District Association for Community Living.
The program provides instruction at LBS Levels 1, 2 and 3 in English, reading, writing and mathematics as well as an introduction to computers.
Upon completion of the program clients will have gained the knowledge and skills needed to enhance their quality of life, gain a higher level of independence and improve their employment skills and opportunities.
Frequency - Tuesday to Thursday 9.00am to 4.00pm

Native
Credit Programming


The adult alternative education program exists to meet the needs of those individuals who cannot or choose not to attend a provincial secondary school.
Through a higher teacher-student ratio, continuous intake and a more individualized career-oriented approach, students can gain the skills and confidence to complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) at the Sagamok Anishnawbek Adult Alternative School or return to the conventional system.

Credit Programming


The Espanola campus offers full-time and part-time certificate and diploma programs in business, computer studies, hospitality and tourism, and health services. After graduation, students may choose to enter the workforce. For those interested in furthering their studies upon graduation, there are internship programs and post-secondary diploma certificate programs available at Cambrian.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) at the general or advanced level, or its equivalent or mature student status.
For trades training programs, the minimum admission requirement, unless otherwise stated, is grade 10 in the general or advanced level or its equivalent or mature student status.

Classroom setting- computer lab and hands-on- Co-operative programs and field placement in some programs. Dates as indicated in course calendar
